Mariah Carey to be Questioned Under Oath Regarding Memoir

Superstar Mariah Carey is coming into her favorite season, but this year may be a little different.

Carey has some legal problems due to her autobiography, which included statements about her brother.

To that point, her brother is having her deposed over those statements, which he claims were false.

Merry Christmas

After the holidays are over, Carey will be required to appear in person for a deposition by her brother’s attorneys.

Morgan Carey claims that in her 2020 autobiography, “The Meaning of Mariah Carey,” she lied about him.

In the book, among other claims, Carey stated that her brother dealt drugs and was abusive with family members.

She wrote, “I was a little girl with very few memories of a big brother who protected me,” Carey — who has described Morgan as her “ex-brother” — wrote in the book.

“More often, I felt I had to protect myself from him, and sometimes I would find myself protecting my mother from him too.”

Mariah’s camp claims this is all because her brother is envious of her success.

Morgan’s attorneys responded, “He is by no means envious of his sister’s enormous artistic and personal success, has enjoyed his own successes both professional and personal and has always wished her well.”

This is not the first time Mariah has been accused of making up stories.

Her late sister, Alison, pushed back against claims that Mariah had made that her sister had drugged her and pimped her out when she was just 12 years old.

Mariah continues to insist that all parts of the book are truthful and rejects the claims that she made anything up in the memoir.

Morgan has already had several aspects of the case dismissed, but some of the claims have been able to be pursued.

According to reports, Mariah and Morgan have not spoken since 1994.
