Manchin Calls Democrat Brand ‘Toxic’

Senator Joe Manchin (I-W.V.), who is set to retire from the Senate at the end of this term, is going off.

Manchin absolutely blasted his fellow Democrats during a recent interview.

The former Democrat stated that the Democrat brand is “toxic.”

What Is His Endgame?

Manchin appeared on CNN’s “Inside Politics” when he let loose.

He was asked if he still considers himself a Democrat, to which he replied, “I am not a Democrat. in a form of what?

“What the Democratic Party has turned itself into the national brand? Absolutely not. And they know that. They’re all good people on both sides.”

Manchin continued, “The brand got so bad the D brand has been so maligned from the standpoint of. It’s just toxic, and the D brand is basically this.

“You know, I’ve told them. I said, first of all, as an American and as someone in the Senate, I’m going to take the constitutional oath, the Constitution that I take very, very, very, very seriously.”

He later added, “And the Democratic Party, the Washington Democrats, have tried to mainstream the extreme.”

I am just trying to figure out what Manchin’s end game here is because he is a Democrat and generally always sides with the Democrats, including when he grandstands and pretends to be against legislation.

I know there are some Republicans who would love to see him register with the GOP, but I say no thanks to that.

Remember, after Biden took office, Manchin stated that he would not support reconciliation, then he fell in line and allowed Democrats to ram through several funding packages via reconciliation.

Manchin is very much part of the problem in DC, and I am glad he is finally stepping away.

Let him go into a career in the media because there is no way I would ever support him in any political role for conservatives.
