Major Donors Pull $90 Million Off the Table
Prior to the Trump assassination attempt, Joe Biden was delivered some pretty bad news.
The pro-Biden PAC Future Forward was told by major donors that donations were being put on hold.
According to the report, the donors were going to hold back $90 million until Joe Biden was removed as the nominee.
Time to Go, Joe
In all honesty, the assassination attempt against Trump may have just saved Joe Biden.
Over the weekend, all talk of having Biden removed has died down, and it now appears that all momentum to remove him has fallen off.
To that point, on Friday, the New York Times reported that donors were going to hold $90 million in donations from the PAC.
The Times stated that Future Forward had called a donor repeatedly about his promised donation, but he had stated that he and other donors were “holding off” until the party removed Joe Biden from the ticket.
The PAC, however, stated that once the uncertainty around Joe Biden’s nomination was removed, it expected donors to open their wallets.
Democrats were reportedly holding meetings toward the latter part of last week, and they were expected to continue through the weekend, but that all changed with the attempt on Trump’s life.
For the most part, all the talk of replacing Joe Biden has died down, and now most Democrats seem content to stick it out with Joe Biden.
However, we have not heard anything definitive, and as far as I know, the money is still not flowing for Joe Biden.
I have seen more than a few Dems and high-profile donors resign themselves to the idea that the failed assassination will likely put Trump back in the Oval Office, so I don’t know if that will influence donors in terms of giving to Biden.
After all, if they think this is a lost cause, why continue to flush good money after bad?
It may be better for the Democrats to lick their wounds and live to see another day.
