Mainstream media goes nuts after Trump claims he never said 'Lock Her Up' in reference to Clinton

Former President Donald Trump has, once again, managed to infuriate leftists in mainstream media.

This time, he did so by claiming that he never said "lock her up" with reference to Hillary Clinton.

Trump, according to The Hill, made the claim on Sunday during an appearance on the Fox News Channel's Fox & Friends. 

This all comes, of course, just days after a Manhattan jury found Trump guilty in the so-called hush-money case.

"I didn't say 'lock her up'"

During the interview, Fox host Will Cain said to Trump, "You famously said, regarding Hillary Clinton, ‘Lock her up.’ You declined to do that as president."

This prompted the former president to say, "I beat her. It’s easier when you win. And they always said ‘lock her up,’ and I felt — and I could have done it, but I felt it would have been a terrible thing. And then this happened to me."

It was here that Trump continued by claiming, "I didn’t say ‘lock her up,’ but the people said ‘lock her up, lock her up.'"

"Then, we won. And I say — and I said pretty openly, I said, all right, come on, just relax, let’s go, we’ve got to make our country great," Trump concluded.

Out of all of this, the mainstream media only seems to care about one thing Trump said, namely, "I didn’t say ‘lock her up.'" Just about every leftist news organization in the world has published a "fact-check" highlighting the fact that Trump, indeed, did join in the chants to "lock her up."

Leftists, as usual, overlook the most important part

The most important part, of course, is that Trump did not lock Clinton up.

Some would argue that the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) would have had plenty of reasons to lock Clinton up. Take, for example, her illegal use of a private email server for classified communications and then take her deletion of the evidence. For people not named "Clinton," this sort of thing is often a crime, but the government let it slide.

You know who also let it slide - Trump. As Trump pointed out in the interview, he, when president, chose not to weaponize the American justice system against Clinton - his political opponent. According to him, he chose not to because he understood that it would have done harm to America.

Fast forward to 2024, the Democrats, apparently, could care less about doing harm to the country, so long as they "get Trump." Clinton, Biden, and the whole crew have been publicly gloating about Trump's guilty conviction and the possibility of him being locked up for what legal experts on both sides of the aisle have identified as politically motivated sham charges.

If we had a fair media, it would focus on what the Democrats are actually doing, rather than on what Trump may or may not have said several years ago - maybe it would report that the Democrats are currently doing what Trump chose not to - persecuting their chief political rival.
