MAGA Candidate to Challenge McCarthy in Primary Race

The fallout for Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) for having lost the gavel continues.

After being ousted by Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL), who made the initial motion to vacate, McCarthy has been under attack from all sides.

Now, however, it has been announced that he will be challenged in the primary for his seat by David Giglio, a self-proclaimed "America First" candidate.

As you guys know, I am no fan of McCarthy’s, but this challenge to a seat he has owned is a bit of a surprise.

The question now is if Trump will endorse McCarthy in the primary or let him hang in the wind just in case Giglio manages to pull off this upset.

In challenging McCarthy, Giglio stated, "Kevin McCarthy has failed the American people. I am excited to announce my campaign to defeat Kevin McCarthy in California’s 20th Congressional District.

“After years of being sold out to special interests, the people of the Central Valley deserve an America First Republican fighting for them in Washington and working alongside President Donald Trump to WAGE WAR against the corrupt uniparty!

"Kevin McCarthy was removed as Speaker by 8 courageous members of his party for failing to keep to his promises and capitulating to Joe Biden and the radical Democrats. Kevin McCarthy must be defeated."

If Giglio is going to mount a serious challenge, he is going to need a monster bankroll because the one thing that McCarthy does well is raise money.

He is always among the GOP leaders in fundraising and he hands out cash to other candidates like candy on Halloween.

McCarthy can flood the airwave with ads and put a ground game together that would crush Giglio, so it will be interesting to see what the MAGA contingent in that part of California decides to do.
