Luna Opponent Indicted for Threatening to Kill Her During Primary Race
Our political world has gotten out of control to the point that even primary opponents are trying to kill each other now.
William Robert Braddock III, 41, of St. Petersburg, FL, has been charged with threatening to kill Rep. Paulina Luna (R-FL) in 2021 during their primary race.
According to the filing, he threatened to use a “hit squad” to take her out.
Going to Jail
I am truly baffled by the lunatics that are running for office these days.
Braddock and Luna were both running for the FL-13 seat in the 2022 election.
According to filings from Luna, she was being stalked by Braddock, with regular threats of him wanting to kill her.
It got to the point that Luna filed for and was issued a restraining order against Braddock.
Shortly after the restraining order was placed, Braddock dropped out of the race.
Luna and her friend, Erin Olszewski, alleged that Braddock told them he was going to “call up my Russian-Ukrainian hit squad” to take her out.
Luna was asked about the case, but her office responded that it could not comment on an existing case.
However, her office also stated that she has “faced a growing number of death threats.”
Her office further stated that this speaks to a "broader and more disturbing issue of violence in the political arena."
So far this year, we have seen two attempts on the life of Donald Trump and a shooting incident at a Harris campaign headquarters.
And that does not even account for the threats that were neutralized before they had the opportunity to do any damage.
You would think that this would teach people on both sides to dial down the rhetoric, but they continue to fire with both barrels at each other, then point the finger at each other when something violent does take place.
Honestly, I long for the days when we can get some adults back in the room to address the issues that are impacting the American people and stop with all this idiocy.
Unfortunately, with the current players on both sides, I don’t see that happening anytime soon. All sides prefer to argue like children rather than sit down and negotiate legislation that works for everyone instead of a select few.
