Since the primary races ended, JD Vance has been holding a two to three-point lead on Rep. Tim Ryan (D-OH).
That lead is now gone.
According to the latest USA Today Network Ohio and Suffolk University survey, Ryan now holds a 46.6 to 45.6 lead.
That is a swing of at least three points, which is very significant.
The Collapse
This comes down to money at this point.
Ryan is getting significant help and while Vance has gotten some cash from Senator McConnell’s (R-KY) leadership PAC, Trump is still holding the purse strings on the Save America PAC funds.
Ryan has tried to portray himself as a centrist, openly stating that he disagrees with Biden’s policies.
That is all complete nonsense, however.
His record shows that he is far from a centrist and is now uttering the same inflammatory language about MAGA conservatives as Joe Biden.
Vance was always going to be a long shot here, but he came out of the gates with a lot of momentum.
That is starting to fizzle and will continue unless he gets a significant influx of cash to counter the TV time that Ryan is gobbling up.
This is Trump’s guy, and Trump needs to step up and start writing checks for his candidates or they are all going to lose.
