Liz Cheney accused of breaking 'numerous federal laws' during time on Jan. 6 panel
When it comes to the term RINO (Republican in name only), Liz Cheney is often at the top of the list.
Here's more proof that Cheney and the party she's supposed to represent do NOT get along.
The GOP is calling for an FBI probe into Liz Cheney, insisting that she broke "numerous federal laws" in relation to her investigation into Jan. 6, 2021.
House Administration Subcommittee on Oversight chairman Barry Loudermilk, a Republican from Georgia, was tasked with investigating the now-defunct Jan. 6 Select Committee that was led by Cheney and others back when Nancy Pelosi and other Democrats controlled the House of Representatives from 2019 to 2023.
Loudermilk's investigation did not end with Cheney looking very good. As a result, Republicans are demanding that the FBI look into the former congresswoman.
"Speaker Pelosi's multimillion-dollar Select Committee was a political weapon with a singular focus to deceive the public into blaming President Trump for the violence on January 6 and to tarnish the legacy of his first Presidency," the report, authored by MAGA allies, found.
"Based on the evidence obtained by this Subcommittee, numerous federal laws were likely broken by Liz Cheney, the former Vice Chair of the January 6 Select Committee, and these violations should be investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation," the report continued.
Loudermilk is alleging that the J6 panel, which included Republicans Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger, participated in a rigged process when they ended up suggesting that Donald Trump should be charged for his role in events of Jan. 6.
Cheney didn't wait long to push back against Loudermilk's findings:
"January 6th showed Donald Trump for who is really is," the former Wyoming Republican said. "He watched television and refused for hours to instruct his supporters to stand down and leave."
"Their allegations do not reflect a review of the actual evidence and are a malicious and cowardly assault on the truth. No reputable lawyer, legislator or judge would take this seriously," Cheney added.
It's clear that at least one side broke the rules here to try to benefit themselves. MAGA supporters are pointing the finger at Cheney, while Cheney is blaming other Republicans.
Do you think that Cheney's actions warrant an FBI investigation? Was she being corrupt in an attempt to get Donald Trump, or was she just doing her job?
