List of Growing Candidates Likely to Hurt Biden More Than Trump

Joe Biden was already going to have a tough go of it in the 2024 election regardless of who the eventual GOP nominee is.

That task is going to get tougher with a more crowded field.

Polling thus far has shown that a third-party candidate(s) will take far more votes away from Biden than Trump.

Trouble Looming

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is already in the race as an independent, and he is getting considerable attention in polling.

He is not quite at the same level as Trump and Biden, but if Trump gets convicted, it is a game changer for Kennedy and presents a real threat to Joe Biden.

Now, however, Biden has other problems, such as Jill Stein announcing that she will again be running for president.

If you recall, Democrats blamed Stein’s campaign for taking enough votes away from Hillary that it was the reason that Trump won the White House in 2016.

Stein, nor Kennedy, may be the biggest threat, however.

Senator Joe Manchin (D-W.V.) just announced that he will not be running for re-election in the Senate, but he said nothing about the presidential election, at least not yet.

Manchin has been flirting with the No Labels Party, and he would surely take a significant number of votes away from Biden if he were to enter the race.

Veteran New Hampshire-based political scientist Wayne Lesperance, the president of New England College, stated, "Manchin has options — none of which are good for the president. He can decide to make a White House run on his own. He can join a No Labels-fueled effort to run.

“Even if he decided to just travel to battleground states and urge voters to support moderate or centrist campaigns, the impact will be felt by Team Biden.”

To this point, Biden has acted unfazed in public about the polling results, even outright denying that he is trailing right now.

When confronted by Fox News’ Peter Doocy about trailing Trump in the latest poll in five of the six key battleground states from 2020, Biden responded, "Because you don’t read the polls.

"Ten polls. Eight of them, I’m beating [Trump] in those places. Eight of them. You guys only do two. CNN and New York Times. Check it out. Check it out."

I can tell you this… I would love to know what “eight” polls Joe Biden is referring to because I watch state and national polls like a hawk, and I have yet to see any recent polling where Joe Biden is leading Trump in the states in question.
