Liberal Jews Feel Slighted by Harris Snubbing of Shapiro

Most people, this writer included, thought that Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro was a slam dunk choice for Kamala Harris as her VP.

Shapiro would have delivered Pennsylvania as well as impacted the Michigan vote.

Instead, Harris caved to the far left in her party and added Minnesota Governor Tim Walz to her ticket, a move that is not sitting well with moderate Jewish voters in this country.

So Wrong

When it was first announced that Biden was going to get dumped and Harris would be the hand-picked candidate, dare I say illegal Democrat nominee, most thought Shapiro was the no-brainer.

Harris needs the Blue Wall to be intact to win this election, and Shapiro would have delivered two of the three key elements to her ticket.

But, and that is a very big BUT, the far left does not like Shapiro because he is a pro-Israel Jew, and the far left hates Israel and hates Jews.

Dems have denied this, but Hollywood Reporter senior awards editor Steven Zeitchik seems to be waking up to the reality that Jews are not really welcome in the new Democrat Party.

He wrote, "What is known is that the choice happened after a conscious progressive social-media campaign to brand Shapiro as ‘Genocide Josh’ and paint him as some Netanyahu water-carrier when his positions on Israel were standard Democratic two-stateism (and sharply anti-Netanyahu).”

Zeitchik would go on to say that Walz appeared to be the pick to appease the antisemites in the Democrat Party, adding, "But my thoughts seem to be echoed among the solidly liberal Jewish-American producers, agents and executives I’ve talked to – namely, that even if the pick was the result of electoral calculations, those calculations come with baked-in antisemitic assumptions about the electorate."

Zeitchik is not alone here, as numerous pundits in the mainstream media were stunned by the pick, all but sure that Shapiro was going to be the guy.

This choice showed the American people what the Democrat Party is really all about today.

Zeitchik concluded, "And so here liberal Jews again find ourselves, hopelessly marooned between a belief that Democratic policies are fundamentally better for our interests and yet worried we are not welcome in our own home."

Well, how about that… it would appear the caffeine finally kicked in for his morning cup of coffee.

Republicans have been telling Jewish people in this country that has been the case since Obama was in office, and it only took 16 years for it to sink in.
