Legendary wrestler Afa Anoa'i passes away at age 81

A professional wrestling legend has reportedly passed away.

WWE superstar Afa Anoa’i has died at the age of 81.

Sources reveal that his death came after numerous “medical setbacks.”

Anoa’i was a WWE Hall of Famer and uncle to Roman Reigns.

The late wrestler's daughter, Vale Anoa’i, took to X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, to confirm the news of his passing.

“Today, all of our lives are irreparably changed. I love you so much, Dad. More than any words could ever express,” wrote Vale Anoa’i.

“Your strength was absolutely superhuman. You fought all the way to the end, and the end was peaceful. That's all I could have hoped for. I love you so very much,” his daughter continued.

Her statement also noted that she had been “preparing to say goodbye” to her father for quite some time but that she will “never have to say goodbye, because a very strong part of him will always be a part of me.”

Since the news broke, countless has shared their grief on the internet and their condolences to his family.

Wrestling's biggest current star, Roman Reigns, wrote on X that “Our family has suffered another great loss with the passing of my uncle and WWE Hall of Famer, Gataivasā Afa Amituana'i Anoa'i.”

“We thank everyone for their support and are comforted by the fact that he now rests in peace. Afa and my father, Pola’ivao Leati Sika Anoa’I were loving brothers, the greatest tag team of their generation, and now they’re reunited together in heaven. Rest in Power Wild Samoans,” Reigns said in the post.

There are not many who get to say they touched the lives of so many people during their time on earth.

What a testament it was to the kind of life that Anoa’i led tjat nothing but endless kind words from loved ones have been said.
