LEAK: Migrant Arrest Numbers Finally Going in the Right Direction

This week, Joe Biden tried to make headlines by presenting an executive order to curb the flow of migrants at the border.

While Biden has finally had a good month, even with the lower numbers, he is still way over the limit of the order.

According to the leaked data from U.S. Customs and Border Protection, there were only about 120,000 encounters this month, about half of Decembers numbers, and slightly below April’s numbers.

Right Direction

Up until a few months ago, the border numbers we were seeing were staggering.

When news agencies finally started reporting on these numbers, Biden was forced to slow a flow of what was regularly more than 200,000 migrants a month.

In April, that number dropped to about 128,000.

According to a new Washington Examiner report, Border Patrol leaked May’s numbers to them early, which came in somewhere between 117,000 and 122,000.

Now, this may also have very little to do with what Joe Biden has been doing and everything to do with the programs that were put in place by Texas Governor Greg Abbott, which Rep. Tony Gonzales (R-TX) pointed out.

The Texas Republican stated, “President Biden made it clear from his first day in office that border security is on his back burner.

“He abandoned the communities I represent, and has repeatedly ignored our calls for help.

“Governor Abbott on the other hand has put Texans first and tackled illegal immigration head-on.

“We’re seeing the positive results of our state’s efforts play out — now we need the federal government to follow suit, enforce against illegal crossings, and finish the job.”

Biden’s new executive order, which was only issued because we are inside six months of the election, calls for a cap of 2,500 per day before lockdowns get put into play.

That would allow about 75,000 encounters per month, which is still above Trump’s average, but nowhere near what we have been seeing.

There are also reports that Mexico may be chipping in a bit more now as well, hoping to get Biden elected over Trump.

Mexican officials know that Trump will come down hard, so having Biden remain in the White House benefits them.

I still believe the American people for whom immigration is a primary issue can see through this charade, and I have no doubt Biden’s new order will have minimal impact on his polling numbers.
