Laura Loomer: Judge Merchan’s Wife Worked for NY AG Letitia James

Trump surrogate Laura Loomer is claiming that she has bombshell evidence to further make the case that Judge Merchan needs to be recused from the Trump hush-money case in New York.

According to Loomer, Merchan’s wife, Lara Merchan, worked for New York Attorney General Letitia James.

This piece of “information” came to light after Judge Merchan expanded the gag order in the hush money case that will be in court later this month under Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg’s office.

Conflict of Interest

Before I get into this, I want to be clear that Loomer is making these claims, claims I have yet to verify.

Loomer claims that Mrs. Merchan was a Special Assistant Attorney General, under New York AG Letitia James.

Loomer goes on to say that Merchan had worked for the New York State Attorney General’s Office from 2009 to 2022, with James being elected to office in 2019.

James, as we all know, ran on a campaign to “get Trump.”

Loomer also published a copy of what she claims is Merchan’s mortgage document, showing the names of Judge Merchan and Lara Merchan on the documentation.

This little tidbit comes after it was revealed that Judge Merchan’s daughter, Loren Merchan, works for a company called Authentic Campaigns.

That company represented numerous high-profile Democrats, including Kamala Harris and Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), as well as doing work for the DNC.

According to recent reports, Merchan’s company has helped Schiff and the DNC raise more than $90 million from fundraising campaigns off Trump’s legal issues, creating what would appear to be a conflict of interest.

I would now expect the Trump campaign to do a deep dive on this to verify the claims, then file another motion to have Judge Merchan recused for the conflict of interest.

If Trump’s motion is denied, at the very least, he is getting more ammunition for his appeal.
