Lara Trump praises Barron Trump for role in successful presidential campaign
Despite having lived most of his life outside of the family spotlight, former -- and future -- first son Barron Trump played an unexpectedly significant role in his father's successful 2024 campaign.
As the Daily Mail reports, the president-elect's daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, recently gave some insight into the actions Barron Trump took to help propel his dad back to the White House.
Coming into his own
Having lived a primarily private life up until this year, Barron Trump was reportedly eager to get involved with his father's quest for another term in the Oval Office.
Now, speaking to podcaster Patrick Bet-David, Lara Trump has revealed that the 18-year-old Barron should receive “serious credit” for the Republicans' Nov. 5 victory.
“Barron Trump is so cool. He's like the sleeper. He's kind of stayed out of the spotlight internationally,” Lara Trump explained.
She continued, “Barron makes us all look so little. He's really smart, very entertaining, he's his father's son. He is going to do really incredible things, there have been many times I've been traveling over the course of the campaign with my father-in-law in the car. Barron will call and say, 'Dad, I have an idea of how you can get more votes, you need to go to this baseball stadium,' or whatever.”
“He's always throwing out ideas. We have to give Barron some serious credit,” Lara Trump added.
Staffers agree
It is not just Lara Trump who has sung the praises of young Barron, as one of President-elect Trump's closest, longtime advisors has concurred with her assessment, as the Independent noted.
Jason Miller opened up to Politico's Playbook Deep Dive podcast and discussed Barron's role in strategically selecting podcasts he believed his father should visit over the course of the campaign.
Barron's selections, according to Miller, were “absolutely ratings gold.”
Miller continued, “Barron has been very involved in selecting or recommending, I should say, a number of the podcasts that we should do. I got to tell you, hats off to the young man,” adding that the first son has “done a great job.”
Having recently started his freshman year at New York University's Stern School of Business, it is clear that world will continue to watch Barron Trump's life and career trajectories, excited to see what comes next.
