Karl Rove says Trump's electoral prospects would have been boosted by NY sentencing
A recent BOMBSHELL dropped by Fox News analyst Karl Rove has made headlines.
Rove thinks that Donald Trump would have actually been HELPED in his bid to the presidential election if his New York sentencing had been this month.
Republicans don't do it often, but Rove actually offered up some pretty serious praise for Judge Juan Merchan.
He complimented Merchan on his decision to delay Trump's sentencing until late November, though he did so while saying that a prison sentence could have "served the interest of Donald Trump."
Rove ultimately called it a "wise decision."
"It’s good for the country that this not be forced into the final stages of a presidential campaign," Rove said.
"I think even the judge figured out that it would be enormously disruptive to the country and reflect badly on the judiciary if he attempted to insert himself into the middle of the final stages of a presidential campaign," Rove also stated.
He did not stop there.
"I also agree with the notion that was offered up by several other of your comment- your analysts. And that is that if he had gone forward with this, it would have, ironically enough, served the interest of Donald Trump," Rove continued.
"Donald Trump has risen in the polls the more the people have reacted negatively to his treatment in the courtroom. And if the judge had gone ahead with this, it could have easily been the October surprise. That is to say, he [Merchan] would have, potentially gone after Donald Trump in his verdict and the reaction of the American people might have been wholly negative on it and helped advance the cause of Donald Trump in the election," the Fox News analyst concluded.
America absolutely does want a fair election, so if that's what Rove thinks Merchan is providing, perhaps Republicans should consider the fact that the judge actually did want this election to happen without him interfering beforehand, although not all in the GOP are going to believe that.
Do you think that Merchan delayed the sentencing because he thought that sentencing Trump before the election would actually help Trump?
Whatever reason Merchan had pushing back the sentencing, Karl Rove is glad that the decision was made.
