Karine Jean-Pierre, the White House press secretary, recently made a pretty shocking claim:
"Nothing has changed."
She was referring to the administration's stance on whether or not President Joe Biden was ever involved or present for any of Hunter Biden's business deals.
The problem with her statement is that the White House has absolutely already flip-flopped on that issue, saying whatever is easiest at the time whenever the question is raised.
So we’ve gone from: “I have never spoken to my son about his overseas business dealings”…
To: “The president was never in business with his son.”
Big difference. Soon they will be parsing the meaning of “in business”. https://t.co/DNQ1tvn4YL pic.twitter.com/FJYPk281TX— Miranda Devine (@mirandadevine) July 24, 2023
For example, the White House started out saying that Joe Biden never "discussed" business with Hunter Biden.
After numerous pieces of evidence proved that to be 100% false, the White House started to change what language was used around the issue.
Instead of saying that Joe Biden never "discussed" business with Hunter Biden, officials changed their lingo to say that Joe had never been "in business with" Hunter Biden.
The change may seem subtle. Some liberals may even try to pass it off as a meaningless difference in translation or say that the statements were interchangeable.
They are NOT.
At first the White House asserted that Joe Biden never even DISCUSSED business with his son, which we now know not to be true.
So how can Karine Jean-Pierre sit there with a straight face and tell America that "nothing has changed" in regard to the White House's alibi behind this situation.
You'd have to ask her, because I sure as heck don't know.
White House @PressSec gets asked about the White House's sudden shift in its position surrounding Joe Biden's knowledge and involvement in Hunter Biden's foreign business dealings.

Previously, she had been asked to support Biden's claim that "I have never discussed, with my son or my brother or with anyone else, anything having to do with their businesses. Period."
When asked if what the president said was true, Jean-Pierre falsely confirmed it at the time.
"What the president said stands," she said, and with that statement, she lied.
What caused the White House to change their response from "Joe Biden never spoken to his son about his overseas business dealings" to "the President was never in business with his son."?
