Kamala Harris possible Joe Rogan’s appearance
It appears that the Kamala Harris campaign is in discussions with Joe Rogan's team regarding the possibility of the vice president appearing on the podcaster's popular program, solidifying her inability to avoid a more neutral interview as the election approaches.
This week, the vice president's team convened with Rogan's crew to deliberate on the possibility of a meeting, as reported by Reuters.
Harris has been attempting to increase her appeal to male voters, and The Joe Rogan Experience is one of the most prominent podcasts in the country.
It has an audience that is 81% male, with over 50% of the audience being under the age of 35, according to a recent YouGov poll.
Previous Interviews
Harris garnered attention last week when she participated in Alex Cooper's podcast, Call Her Daddy, which is specifically designed for young female listeners.
Recently, Harris has also been subjected to criticism for exclusively conducting media interviews with organizations that are perceived as being supportive of the candidate.
However, as the election approaches and the surveys become more competitive, she has been venturing into more challenging territory, including an interview on Fox News that will be broadcast on Wednesday night and 60 Minutes.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a third-party candidate, was featured on Rogan's podcast in August. Kennedy has since withdrawn from the campaign.
Rogan's Interviewees
In 2020, Rogan also interviewed Bernie Sanders during the Democratic primary when the Vermont senator was running.
Nevertheless, Harris' appearance on Rogan would be somewhat unexpected, given Rogan's intermittent endorsement of right-wing ideologies and what some would consider conspiracy theories. For example, he recently dedicated a significant portion of an episode to persuading his guest that the Apollo 11 moon landing may not have occurred).
Additionally, Rogan appears to be open to discussing any subject, whereas Harris' team has reportedly endeavored to maintain the candidate's comfort level during media engagements. Consequently, it will be intriguing to observe whether they are able to reach an agreement.
The reports were not confirmed or denied by either Harris or Rogan's camp.
