It’s election season, which means Democrats are making the Second Amendment a leading topic of discussion.
Mind you, the information they spew is generally wrong, and on that front, Kamala Harris did not disappoint.
For instance, she claimed that gun violence is a “disease,” as well as promoting a debunked stat that gun violence is the leading cause of death among children.
Twisting Facts
The problem with Harris’ stats is that the numbers were twisted to get the data that the CDC and this administration wanted.
For instance, the CDC tracks “children” gun violence deaths to include 18 and 19-year-olds. When the data is limited to actual children, those of 17 years and under, it changes everything, as Breitbart had previously reported.
That, however, did not stop Harris, who stated, “It’s [gun violence] the number one cause of death, not some disease, although this is a form of a disease.”
Breitbart showed that accidental suffocation deaths were actually the leading cause, and it was not even close.
Now, I will be the first to tell you that we need to do something about children dying from gun violence, but my solution is far different than Kamala Harris’ solution.
We need to look at the shooters, not the weapon, as we have shown numerous times that gun laws only work when they are enforced, so what is the purpose of creating more gun laws when the ones on the books are not even enforced?
How many times do we have to see a mass shooter that slipped through the cracks on background checks or information that was not properly reported by a specific agency that would have blocked the purchase of the weapons used?
If Democrats really wanted to address this situation, they would be on their soapbox every Monday after the weekend stats come in from cities like St. Louis, Philadelphia, Detroit, and Chicago.
The number of shootings in these cities every weekend equates to some of the worst mass shootings we have seen in the history of this country, but they are completely silent on the issue.
This is just like abortion… Democrats do not want to solve the issue, they just want to keep pouring gasoline on it so they can get votes come election day.
