Judge will allow DOGE to takeover African development agency

If you can believe it, the Trump administration appears to have finally gained a victory in this endless stream of lawsuits to block DOGE.

In this case, DOGE was trying to take charge of the U.S. African Development Foundation (USADF).

Trump has been getting killed in these suits, but a district judge, Judge Richard Leon, a Bush appointee, has ruled in DOGE’s favor.

Let It Happen

As I have stated far too many times to count, it is pretty easy to predict the outcome in these cases based on who appointed the judge.

Since Donald Trump’s first term, my prediction rate is well over 95%, and that is not because I am some kind of brilliant legal mind.

All I am doing is looking at who initially appointed the judge, and it is pretty easy to tell which direction the decision will swing.

In this case, USADF’s chair, Ward Brehm, is trying to keep his seat at the table and prevent Peter Marocco, the deputy acting head of the U.S. Agency for International Aid (USAID), from taking over.

Judge Leon stated, “The heart of the problem is that Brehm has not identified any cognizable irreparable harm to himself as opposed to potential harm to the agency and its partners.

“At the outset, his loss of employment in and of itself is not irreparable harm. Should he eventually succeed on the merits, the Court could remedy any harm by reinstating him to his position and ordering back pay.”

This, as far as I know, is one of the first major victories in the challenges to DOGE and Trump’s executive orders.

DOGE has been putting people in place to audit many of our agencies, but this particular agency is not a cabinet position, hence the challenge in trying to remove its current chair to place a Trump official in his place.

What bothers me the most about all of this is that Democrats seem more worried about the organization than they are about the fraud and waste being exposed.

That tells me that at least some of them are aware of the waste and fraud, so they are actually worried about it linking back to them or their party, which would then clearly impact the election.

I am just glad Trump finally got a win, even though I know it will be short-lived if the appeal goes before a liberal-dominated appeals panel.
