Judge Says Barring Age 18-20 Adults From Concealed Carry Is Unconstitutional

U.S. District Court judge William S. Stickman believes in concealed carry for ALL adults in America...

Even the youngest adults among us.

Stickman made a decision this week against Pennsylvania's prohibition on adults between the ages of 18 and 20 securing a concealed carry permit for self-defense purposes.

The lawsuit, Lara v. Evanchick, was brought by the Second Amendment Foundation, Firearms Policy Coalition, and three private citizens.

One of the citizens was named Madison M. Lara, the person the case was named after.

Section 6109(b) of Pennsylvania's concealed carried law indicates that people ages 21 and up are allowed to apply for a carry license.

Attorneys for the plaintiff argued that since Pennsylvania State Police Commissioner Robert Evanchick actively enforces the law, there is no way for law-abiding people ages 18 to 20 to carry for self-defense.

The plaintiffs and their lawyers are arguing that "Evanchick’s enforcement violates the Second Amendment rights of Lara and others who are law-abiding and at least 18 years of age but not yet 21 years of age."

America's government will let these 19-year-olds carry a weapon as long as it's pointed at some person in a third-world country in which we're currently at war, but not to protect themselves in their home country.

Adam Kraut, the executive director of the Second Amendment Foundation, said that "Judge Stickman’s injunction has conferred the same Second Amendment rights upon 18-20-year-olds that those over 21 have had. Now 18-20-year-olds in Pennsylvania may apply for License to Carry Firearms and the state’s draconian transportation laws have been enjoined from enforcement. This is a victory for Second Amendment rights in PA."

Should the Second Amendment apply to all American adults, or just the ones Pennsylvania's government prefers?
