Judge rules Breonna Taylor's boyfriend repsonsible for her death

U.S. District Judge Charles Simpson has made an official ruling on the death of Breonna Taylor, the woman who was infamously shot in a police raid back in 2020.

The decision has likely left former President Donald Trump’s supporters with a sense of relief.

All of the major felonies with which Joshua Jaynes and Kyle Meany, two former officers who worked on the relevant arrest warrant but were not present during the raid, in relation to Taylor’s death have been dropped.

Back in 2022, U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland announced the charges against Jaynes and Meany, saying that they were responsible for falsifying part of the warrant and thus those responsible for the night that ultimately led to Taylor’s death.

However, the judge on the case determined the legal cause of Taylor’s death was due to her boyfriend having fired a shot at the officers during the raid, saying there was “no direct link between the warrantless entry and Taylor’s death.”

Judge Simpson did not stop there.

“While the indictment alleges that Jaynes and Meany set off a series of events that ended in Taylor’s death, it also alleges that (Walker) disrupted those events when he decided to open fire,” he went on to say.

Trump supporters know the immense responsibility that comes with serving as a police officer, and if the judge has now dropped major charges, these officers are almost certainly innocent in this tragic event.

Taylor’s family, on the other hand, does not agree with the ruling and has sworn to “continue to fight” until “full justice” is obtained.

“Obviously we are devastated at the moment by the judge’s ruling with which we disagree and are just trying to process everything. The only thing we can do at this point is continue to be patient ... we will continue to fight until we get full justice for Breonna Taylor,” wrote Taylor’s family.
