Judge Rules Against Trump for Gag Order Violations

Donald Trump has not had much luck when it comes to judges in his cases, and he just got hit again.

As Judge Engoron did in the E. Jean Carroll case, Judge Merchan hit Trump with a gag order.

And, just like in that case, Trump violated the gag order, and Merchan just hit him with a stiff fine.

Pay the Man His Money

We all knew this was coming…

Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg had already filed a motion requesting a review of Trump’s behavior, claiming that Trump had already violated the gag order.

Initially, Merchan reserved his judgment, but that changed this week when Merchan ruled that Trump had violated the gag order nine times and would be fined $9,000 for those violations.

And, like Engoron, Merchan then threatened Trump with possible jail time if he kept violating the order.

Trump, of course, went ballistic after the fines were announced, heading right to Truth Social to air his grievances.

Trump posted, "This Judge has taken away my Constitutional Right to FREE SPEECH. I am the only Presidential Candidate in History to be GAGGED.

"This whole ‘Trial’ is RIGGED, and by taking away my FREEDOM OF SPEECH, THIS HIGHLY CONFLICTED JUDGE IS RIGGING THE PRESIDENTIAL OF 2024 ELECTION. ELECTION INTERFERENCE!!!"

Trump has been going off about this that everyone can attack him, but he is unable to defend himself because of this gag order, claiming it is a violation of his First Amendment rights.

Merchan is not going to give Trump much wiggle room on this, so he is going to have to be careful or he would wind up in a jumpsuit behind bars before long.

With this trial expected to last six to eight weeks, this is not a good start for Trump in this trial.
