Judge Orders UCLA to Halt Discrimination Against Jews
Since October 7 and the attack by Hamas against Israel, the anti-Semitism in this country has gotten out of control.
I don’t think anyone realized how much Jews are hated in this country, specifically by liberals, who are supposed to be the preferred ideology of Jewish people in this country.
College campuses have been particularly bad—so bad, in fact, that a judge had to order UCLA to stop the rhetoric.
Just Stop It
U.S. District Judge Mark Scarsi did not hold his tongue while issuing a scathing order to the University of California Regents and UCLA President Michael Drake.
Scarsi ordered that Drake and the Regents cannot offer “any ordinarily available programs, activities, or campus areas to students if [they] know the ordinarily available programs, activities, or campus areas are not fully and equally accessible to Jewish students.”
This order came after a suit was filed by several Jewish students who were blocked from going to several areas on campus after Hamas attacked Israel.
All over campus, anti-Israel protesters had set up checkpoints where they demanded students denounce Israel before they could enter the location.
Scarsi wrote, “In the year 2024, in the United States of America, in the State of California, in the City of Los Angeles, Jewish students were excluded from portions of the UCLA campus because they refused to denounce their faith.
“This fact is so unimaginable and so abhorrent to our constitutional guarantee of religious freedom that it bears repeating.”
UCLA knew this was happening and did nothing to stop it because “the exclusion was engineered by third-party protesters.”
Mary Osako, UCLA vice chancellor for strategic communications, responded, “UCLA is committed to fostering a campus culture where everyone feels welcome and free from intimidation, discrimination, and harassment.
“The district court’s ruling is improper and would hamstring our ability to respond to events on the ground and to meet the needs of the Bruin community.”
I just cannot even begin to understand how this is even arguable by the school.
If there was a Neo-Nazi group on campus that was stopping minority students from going into areas, it would rightfully be stopped immediately, yet they will not do the same for Jewish students.
This is shameful, just as shameful as what we saw take place on Ivy League campuses after the attack.
Again, these are all liberals with this hateful rhetoric and conduct, yet they continue to say the right is creating the divide in this country.
