Judge Merchan Says Trump Can Attend Barron’s Graduation

Prior to jury selection, Trump’s legal team filed several requests with the court for Donald Trump to be excused.

The first was to have off the day of oral arguments before the Supreme Court regarding presidential immunity, which was denied.

The second was for Trump to be able to attend Barron Trump’s graduation, which Merchan reserved his ruling until the trial got underway.

Ruling Is In

On Tuesday, Judge Merchan finally issued his ruling on the motion, approving Trump’s attendance at the event, just as we originally thought he would.

When the motion was originally filed, I suspected that Merchan would make Trump sweat it out but eventually rule in his favor.

Trump responded to the ruling, stating, “I was looking forward to that graduation with his mother and father there.

“It looks like the judge isn’t going to allow me to escape this scam. It’s a scam trial.”

There was simply no way that Merchan would allow Trump to play the victim card on this, but I guarantee you that he got some joy in making Trump sweat it out.

The only way I suspected that Merchan would rule against Trump attending was if the trial was way behind schedule, but it appears to be ahead of the mark, so that one day means nothing in the overall scheme of things.

Jury selection took far less time than I thought, and prosecutors have already started to call witnesses in the case.

I am sure that graduation will now become a media circus, as far more attention will be paid to Donald Trump attending than to Barron Trump graduating.

For Barron’s sake, I hope I am wrong, but I am glad that he will be able to now have both of his parents in attendance.

Good luck, Barron, and congratulations.
