Judge Hints Willis May Be Disqualified from Trump Georgia RICO Case

Donald Trump just may get his way in having Fulton County DA Fani Willis removed from the Georgia election fraud-RICO case.

Willis has been in the headlines recently for having an affair with one of her special prosecutors assigned to the case.

Trump has tried to have her removed due to a possible conflict of interest, and Judge McAfee now appears ready to entertain the idea.

She Must Be Removed

From the legal opinions I have read, the optics of this are horrible for Willis, but it may not be enough to have her removed.

That was until it was recently alleged that the two of them were having an affair before the Trump case, with the premise being that Willis was using the case to help Nathan Wade financially (Wade is the prosecutor whom Willis is or was having an affair with).

There is also the allegation that Willis lied about the timeline of the affair.

Michale Roman, one of the co-defendants in the case, levied the allegations in a recent filing.

Judge McAfee responded, stating, “Because I think it’s possible that the facts alleged by the defendant could result in disqualification, I think an evidentiary hearing must occur to establish the record on those core allegations.”

Willis responded to the filing by asking to have the case dismissed, which McAfee has already decided against, so these allegations are going to get their day in court.

However, will it be enough to have Willis removed from the case, setting the trial date back even further?

There is also the question of the charges possibly being dropped by the next DA if Willis loses her job.

Willis’ attorney responded to the most recent allegations and ruling by McAfee, stating, “The defense is not bringing you facts. The defense is not bringing you law.

“The defense is bringing you gossip, and the state cannot — and the court should not — condone that practice.”

This has become a battle of attrition at this point, with Trump hoping to delay every case until after the general election has taken place.
