Donald Trump finally got a win on the classified documents front.
The Department of Justice was hoping to secure contempt of court charges against Trump.
Judge Beryl Howell declined to file charges, instead encouraging the two parties to work together to get this situation fixed.
Frustration
The Department of Justice has clearly run out of patience in dealing with the former president and his team of attorneys.
Over the last few months, Trump and his legal team have been dancing around requests made by the Department of Justice regarding documents that were or are being held at Mar-a-Lago.
Steven Cheung, senior communications adviser to Trump, stated, "The President and his counsel will continue to be transparent and cooperative, even in the face of the highly weaponized and corrupt witch-hunt from the Department of Justice.
"Hillary Clinton was allowed to delete and acid wash 33,000 emails after they were subpoenaed by Congress, yet absolutely nothing has happened to hold her accountable. If the Department of Justice can go after President Trump, they will surely come after any American who they disagree with.
"President Trump is the only one who stands in the way of the un-American weaponization of law enforcement."
As you may recall, the DOJ made national headlines when it raided Mar-a-Lago for classified documents after it was assured that it already had all classified information.
Since that raid, reports have surfaced that Trump was keeping additional documents at another storage facility, so don't expect the drama around this case to settle down anytime soon.
Trump will continue to drag this all out as long as possible in the hopes that the case does not impact his run for the White House in 2024.
I believe the exact opposite, that any ramifications from these investigations will hit perfectly for Dems to do as much political damage as possible.
