Judge Clears Path for Trump Appeal on Fani Willis Disqualification Ruling

Over the last few weeks, Fulton County DA Fani Willis has been THE biggest topic in politics.

The script was flipped and it was Willis who found herself in the witness chair to defend her actions.

Eventually, Judge McAfee allowed her to stay on the case, but he now has given Trump the approval to appeal his ruling.

Remove Her

Willis was facing disqualification for her relationship with Nathan Wade, a prosecutor she hired on the case and ended up having an affair with.

The timing of the affair came into question, and it would appear that Willis lied under oath on the stand.

This is something that many believed would not only have her removed from the case but could possibly result in a bar review for her legal license.

Instead, McAfee ruled that Willis could remain on the case as long as Wade was removed.

Wade decided to tender his resignation, in dramatic fashion, of course, claiming he only did this for the sake of justice.

After he resigned, Willis released a statement in response, which read, “I will always remember — and will remind everyone — that you were brave enough to step forward and take on the investigation and prosecution of the allegations that the defendants in this case engaged in a conspiracy to overturn Georgia’s 2020 Presidential Election.”

The ruling stunned many legal experts, and this included Trump’s attorneys.

Now they will get another shot at Willis with McAfee ruling that Trump could file an appeal to review his decision.

Trump attorney Steve Sadow stated, “The defense is optimistic that appellate review will lead to the case being dismissed and the DA being disqualified.”

So, Willis is still in the hot seat, which means this case is likely to get pushed back even further until this appeals process has been exhausted, which in and of itself is a win for Trump.
