Jordan Threatens to Subpoena FBI Official

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) has been looking forward to this moment for quite some time.

Jordan has wanted to go after Democrats and the FBI since 2018, but the fact Dems controlled the House has left him powerless.

That all changes in a few weeks, and he is already getting ready for battle, with an FBI official at the top of his list.

Game On

The official I am talking about is former executive assistant director of the FBI's National Security Branch, Jill Sanborn.

She was to testify, but she backed out, and now Jordan is threatening to subpoena her once the GOP gets power.

Sanborn is in the middle of the classifying of certain cases as domestic violent extremism even if they would not normally qualify.

When she backed out of testifying, Jordan sent her a letter that stated, "Your decision leaves us little choice but to consider compulsory process to obtain your testimony early in the 118th Congress."

He continued, "Your decision to renege on your commitment appears to have occurred only after your counsel sought guidance from the Department of Justice and Committee Democrats."

The letter continued, "We reiterate that to the extent the Department or FBI is or has been preventing your ability to respond to our request in a timely and comprehensive manner, we will examine these facts during your transcribed interview.

"Simply put, although the Department and FBI likely would not welcome your testimony, your decision to voluntarily appear for a transcribed interview is your decision and yours alone."

He concluded, "You have chosen not to do so."

Sanborn has denied all allegations.

Her attorney has since offered up alternative dates for her to testify when the new session begins.

That would be a smart move, because Jordan is a bulldog, and right now he is rabid.
