Jon Stewart slices hand open during DOGE rant

Comedian and activist Jon Stewart is back hosting “The Daily Show,” and he stunned his viewers this week while doing a rant about DOGE.

Stewart slammed his coffee mug on the desk, and a shard from the mug gashed his hand wide open.

He tried to hide the injury for a bit but eventually conceded he may have to go to the hospital.

Anger Management

Stewart actually likes the idea of DOGE; he just believes that Musk and the company are looking in all the wrong places.

He stated, “How about we just take $3 billion in subsidies we give to oil and gas companies that already turned billions in profits? How long did that take?

“Oh, wait. How about we just close down the carried interest loophole on hedge funds? That’s $1.3 billion a year.

“Oh, how about we stop the $2 trillion we’ve given to defense contractors to build a fighter jet that blows when everybody knows the next war is going to be fought with drones and blockchain, whatever that is.

“Holy shit! I can’t believe it. I just saved us billions of dollars in 11 seconds!”

Then came the real rant, as he stated, “It would be embarrassing if it was a small drop in the bucket and that the American people didn’t expect that we should negotiate for all their fucking drugs because we’ve already paid for them with our subsidies! Fucking thanks! Come on!”

At this point, he smashed the mug and sliced his hand wide open…

I have already stated that I love the concept of DOGE, but I have also questioned if Musk is going a bit off the reservation.

I am all for canceling partisan programs that were pushing an agenda, but I have to question how much of Musk's work is being properly communicated to the rest of the cabinet.

For instance, his email about firing anyone who did not provide him with bullet points of their work for the previous week was already rejected by several officials, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio, FBI Director Kash Patel, and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard.

Should it not be up to them to evaluate staffers to decide who stays and who goes?

What if a person who has a critical job and is actually doing their job does not answer the email? Do we risk national security over the email?

I just think that Musk may be getting a little power-hungry here and overstepping his bounds.

And to be clear, I fully believe there is a lot of dead weight in our government, and positions need to be eliminated, I am just not sure an email survey is the best way to go about deciding who stays and who goes.

Trump has his people in place, so let them do their jobs, evaluate the positions and talent, and allow them to decide who is staying and what positions need to be eliminated.
