John Fetterman criticizes Democrats for demonizing white men
Sen. John Fetterman of Pennsylvania has shared his thoughts on the future of the Democratic Party.
Fetterman revealed in a recent interview with American journalist Tara Palmeri that he has doubts that Democrats will succeed in winning back any chunks of the electorate they have lost.
Fetterman in particular called out the attitude Democrats have exhibited toward President Donald Trump as well as those who voted for him.
He went on to say that Democrats have “turned their back” on the white men in this country and also noted that he is “'not sure if it's possible' to win them back because they've become the party's scapegoat for everything wrong.”
“Men's the problem. Men are to blame. Or their masculinity is toxic. Or unless you're able to conform to our very strict kinds of definition of what we think's appropriate, well, then, hey, I'm going to find an alternative. And they [men] have done that,” Fetterman said.
“I think their [Democrats'] primary currency was shaming and scolding and talking down to people and telling them, 'Hey, I know better than you,' or 'You're dopes,' or 'You're a bro,' or 'You're ignorant,' or, you know, 'Don't you -- how can you be this dumb?'” Fetterman also said in the clip.
“I know, and I love people that voted for Trump, and they're not fascist, you know, they don't support insurrection and those things,” Fetterman pointed out.
Fetterman may be a Democrat, but it's refreshing to hear somebody from the other side understand what many Republicans are going through.
Maybe more white men in America would feel comfortable voting for Democrats if their party didn't demonize them at every turn.
Fetterman’s grievances with the Democratic Party were far from over, and he went on to discuss his colleagues' refusal to give fair consideration to Trump's choice to become attorney general, Pam Bondi.
“She was the Attorney General of the third-largest state [Florida] in the nation, and she was a DA for 17, 18 years. So, in terms of qualifications, she absolutely was a serious person,” Fetterman ranted.
The clip has now been shared with various news outlets and is gaining traction on social media.
Do you agree with Fetterman’s opinion on the future of the Democratic Party?
