Jimmy Kimmel offers mean-spirited take on state of Trump marriage

Speculation about the state of Donald and Melania Trump's marriage has always been rife, but some of the commentary about the former -- and potentially future -- first couple has been unduly harsh in nature.

As an example of the nasty tone often taken by liberals in the media and entertainment industries, comedian Jimmy Kimmel last week weighed in and suggested that Melania Trump's out-and-out hatred for her husband knows almost no bounds, as the Inquisitr reports.

Kimmel holds forth

A longtime, self-declared Trump foe, Kimmel on Thursday used part of his late-night monologue to cast aspersions on the president's relationship with his wife.

Kimmel's remarks came amid discussion of new allegations against the former president suggesting that he attempted to pay hush money to adult entertainer Stormy Daniels as recently as this summer.

The talk show host expressed skepticism about Trump's historical denials of an affair with Daniels and went on to speculate about Mrs. Trump's feelings about the state of her union.

Referencing reports of Mrs. Trump's disdain for certain duties while serving as first lady, Kimmel added, “She hates him more than she hates Christmas, I'm telling you.”

Not alone

Kimmel is not the only Trump hater who has taken it upon himself to assign feelings to the former first lady, with former White House staffer Anthony Scaramucci, whose tenure as communications director lasted just days, giving his two cents earlier this year, as The Independent noted.

In Scaramucci's estimation, Melania Trump is pulling for a Kamala Harris victory come November for the simple reason that “she hates him.”

He went on, “I judge the hatred of Donald Trump by the Melania standard” and added, “I've met one person that actually hates Trump more than Melania,” naming retired General Mark Milley as that individual.

Misguided judgements abound

Contrary to the perceptions of Kimmel and Scaramucci, however, Mrs. Trump recently painted a warm and loving portrait of her husband's character in her best-selling memoir, Melania, as the New York Post reports.

She recalled that upon first meeting the future president, she “was captivated by his charm and easygoing nature” not to mention “drawn to his magnetic energy.”

Despite her admitted preference for a more private life, Melania is fully on board as her husband pursues another term in the White House, and to most observers, that serves as a vivid demonstration of her admiration for and loyal commitment to her life partner's ultimate ambition.
