Jim Carrey mourning death of sister

The family of Jim Carrey is grieving the death of the famous comedian’s older sister, Rita.

While Rita’s cause of death has not been confirmed, it was reported that she died surrounded by her family.

Her husband, Alex, posted to Rita’s Facebook confirming the news of her death.

“It is with a heavy heart and my deepest sadness, surrounded by her family and friends Rita passed away peacefully and quietly on November 14, 2024,” Alex began.

“Rita and I (Alex) have been together for 16 years and we just got married last year in July in an outdoor wedding that she has always wanted. We traveled the world and met many people who we consider friends,” Alex went on.

Alexa’s tribute to his beloved wife and sister of Jim Carrey was far from over.

“Rita was my bestest friend, my lover and my beautiful wife. Rita always had a loving soul and wanted to help everyone even total strangers. As everyone knows Christmas was Rita’s favorite holiday actually it was every day for her and she started a fundraiser to help a local charity,” he continued.

Alex also noted that “donations in Rita’s memory can be made to Gillian’s place directly or at the event Non-perishable food, children’s clothing, toiletry items or unwrapped children’s presents are encouraged.”

“It’s been a wonderful and crazy journey with Rita. She filled everyone’s heart with joy with every step she took and I will never forget this beautiful and amazingly talented woman,” Rita’s husband concluded.

Rita passed away at the age of 68, and was six years older than her younger brother, Jim Carrey.

The Facebook post written by her husband exploded on the social media platform.

It is beyond clear that Rita was an incredible person.

We pray for Jim Carrey, Rita’s husband Alex, and anyone else grieving the loss of her beautiful soul.
