Jill Biden Takes Solo Trip to Visit Fort Campbell
It looks like Joe Biden had to spend the first day of his holiday vacation all by himself at Camp David.
It turns out that Jill Biden headed to Fort Campbell on December 23 to spread a little holiday cheer with the troops.
She was also meeting with families that have recently been impacted by the tornadoes that swept through the area.
Spreading Cheer
This would normally be something that the president would do, but with Joe’s age and limited battery power, Jill Biden appears to be taking on a much larger role both in his campaign and in official White House appearances.
There are 68 families attached to the 101st Airborne at Fort Campbell that have been displaced by the storms.
During her visit, Jill Biden stated, "In the moments of hardship, you are the ones who step up. You are the ones who put your lives in harm's way; you're the ones who reach out a hand to carry others through."
Captain Steve Nava, deputy public affairs officer for the 101st Airborne Division (air assault), added, "It’s wonderful to have her and Santa Claus as well, just to be here with the soldiers, I think [who] could really use some joy this time of year after everything that’s happened.”
I will slam the Biden family for many things, but I cannot take a shot at them for visiting our troops over the holiday season, as this has become a very important White House tradition.
I can, however, take a shot at Joe Biden, who clearly cannot handle the travel that is normally associated with the office and who was taking yet another extended vacation away from the White House, this time at Camp David.
These are all little things you just file away as we get closer to election day to realize that even though it's Joe Biden on the ticket, he is not the actual person that voters are putting in charge of the country.
I have little doubt that, among others, Jill Biden is one of the people actually calling the shots in this administration.
