The team that has caused more fuss regarding women’s sports and the National Anthem was just a major bust.
Women’s Team USA just got dumped out of the World Cup, falling to Sweden on penalty kicks.
After the embarrassing loss, Jill Biden decided to offer her public support for the team that many of us believe should be shunned.
See Ya, Rapinoe
Whenever I think of women’s soccer, I think Megan Rapinoe. She has been a polarizing figure since day one.
She has demanded equal pay for women compared to the men’s national team even though the women’s team, while more successful over the years, draws only a small percentage of what the men’s team draws during matches.
She has also been at the forefront of National Anthem protests while leading our national team, embarrassing this country, taking a knee while on the world stage and our anthem playing in the background.
On Sunday morning, the latest version of Team USA was booted from the World Cup, losing to Sweden on penalty kicks in what was an otherwise scoreless game.
Jill Biden was right there to give these losers a pat on the back, a virtual participation trophy, if you will…
.@USWNT, you made this sport matter.
Today, you inspired us with your grit and determination. We are proud of you. Always remember that you encourage women and girls everywhere to show up and fight for their dreams. 💕 https://t.co/1vIkTaZ45n

Ironically, part of the blame falls on Rapinoe, who played a large part in the loss, having missed her penalty kick. The United States was dominating the shootout up to that point, then Rapinoe and two others missed, allowing Sweden to steal the game.
After the loss, Rapinoe stated, “I mean, this is like a sick joke. For me personally, this is like dark comedy that I missed a penalty. This is the balance to the beautiful side of the game. I think it can be cruel,” reported WISHTV.
So, the storybook ending that Rapinoe had hoped for, being carried off the field with a World Cup victory in her final game, will not be.
She gets to walk into the shadows having failed her nation and her teammates in her final outing as a soccer player for the nation she hates.
