Jill Biden Stands in for Joe at UNESCO Ceremony

Joe Biden just found one more thing that Donald Trump had done that he could undo.

Trump announced that the United States was pulling out of the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in 2017.

The move was made official in 2018, but Jill Biden just traveled to Paris to "celebrate" the United States rejoining the organization, which means more of our taxpayer dollars going to another useless cause.

We're Back

Trump pulled the United States out of UNESCO to support Israel, who also pulled out at the same time.

Both countries did this because Palestine was included as a member state in 2011, so Trump pulled the financing, which, let's be honest, is the only reason UNESCO wants us on board.

Not only did Biden rejoin UNESCO, but he also pledged to pay back dues from the time Trump pulled out, initially requesting $150 million in 2024, with plans for more requests in the immediate future to pay off the $619 million the United States would have paid since Trump withdrew, reported CBS News.

With an annual budget of $534 million, do the math and you can see, as usual, it is the American taxpayer that is funding the majority of the budget. The United States was the largest funder for UNESCO at 22 percent of its annual budget.

UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay was ecstatic that she once again has her hands in our pockets, stating that UNESCO was putting "the Star Spangled Banner back where it belongs."

She added, "In the time of divisions, rifts, and existential threats, we reaffirm our union here today. Together we will be stronger," reported AP News.

Jill Biden, who now seems to be the de facto president for public appearances, added, "I was honored to join you today as we raise the flag of the United States, the symbol of our commitment to global collaboration and peace."

She went on to say that moves like this signify Joe "restoring our leadership on the world stage.

"We are so proud to rejoin UNESCO," she proclaimed, acknowledging that "as a teacher, I'm a little biased."

By leadership, Biden means paying for everything because it is funding like this that Trump pulled to put America first.

Don't get too comfortable with that money, Ms. Azoulay, because I have a feeling we will be pulling out again sometime around January 20, 2025.
