Jill Biden Reportedly Managing Joe Biden's Schedule to Focus on More Rest

First Lady Jill Biden is reportedly actively involved in managing President Joe Biden's schedule, aiming to ensure the 81-year-old receives adequate rest less than a year before the upcoming presidential election, according to current and former aides.

As concerns grow around President Biden's acknowledgment of his limitations, Jill Biden and her team are deeply engaged in scheduling to facilitate more rest for the president and prevent potential missteps.

The First Lady and her team also monitor the president's schedule to assist in managing his diet, though a White House official downplayed the significance, emphasizing that such coordination is not uncommon among couples in the administration.

The report notes that former First Lady Nancy Reagan closely monitored the schedule of former President Ronald Reagan and occasionally consulted an astrologer after an assassination attempt on the president.

Jill Biden's involvement in scheduling aims to strike a balance between the president's desire to participate in events and her concern for his well-being, according to Ted Kaufman, Biden's longtime friend and former chief of staff.

Despite President Biden's self-assurance that he feels younger than his age, he has made some adjustments, such as wearing sneakers and taking shorter steps, reflecting a recognition of the need for changes.

As the 81-year-old president gears up for reelection, public concerns about his age persist, with 77% of Americans expressing worry about his age in September.

A November New York Times/Siena College poll indicated that 54% of Biden's own party believes he is "too old" for office.

In recent months, Biden's occasional verbal slips have contributed to concerns about his age, including repeating a debunked story about his time on the Amtrak and making exaggerated claims during public appearances.

Despite these concerns, the White House spokesperson, Andrew Bates, highlighted Biden's commitment to a busy schedule even with the first lady's efforts to closely monitor his activities.

The efforts add to growing concerns about the president's age as he seeks a second term in office at the age of 81.
