January 6 Judge Slaps Trump with Gag Order

Trump just had it happen again.

The polarizing former president had been told that he can no longer attack prosecutors and court members in the January 6 case.

Trump’s team has already responded as expected, claiming that Trump’s rights are being violated and this is yet another move to block him from the White House in 2024.

Abomination

Per the new order from Judge Chutkan, Trump can no longer make any comments in the media or on social media that are attacking court personnel, witnesses, Special Counsel Jack Smith, and his staff.

Judge Chutkan slammed Trump for his comments, concluding, “No other criminal defendant would be allowed to do so, and I'm not going to allow it in this case.”

A Trump spokesperson responded to the order, stating, "Today’s decision is an absolute abomination and another partisan knife stuck in the heart of our Democracy by Crooked Joe Biden, who was granted the right to muzzle his political opponent, the leading candidate for the Presidency in 2024, and the most popular political leader in America, President Donald J. Trump.

"President Trump will continue to fight for our Constitution, the American people’s right to support him, and to keep our country free of the chains of weaponized and targeted law enforcement.”

In this case, which now has four charges attached to the indictment, Trump faces an uphill battle.

This judge was chomping at the bit to get Trump in her courtroom, and she has issued some of the stiffest sentences we have seen, often insinuating that it was Trump, while not naming him directly, that needed to be the one behind bars.

Trump will get no breaks in this courtroom and his legal team knows it, which is what I would imagine they will use in their appeal if Trump loses the case.

Perhaps getting this gag order slapped on him is part of the plan, but if I were Trump, I would start to dial it down before he puts himself in a bigger pinch than he already is.
