Jake Tapper has been all-in on Joe Biden since he announced that he was running for president.
Tapper used to be a decent anchor, but that all changed with the anti-Trump movement at CNN.
While Tapper still hates Trump, he is finally starting to see just a bit of daylight regarding the Joe and Hunter Biden connection, reported Fox News.
Reality Bites
So far, the media has been sticking up for Joe Biden defending his son. I have lost count of how many times I have heard the narrative that "he is just a father that loves and defends his son."
Well, there is a problem with that when your son is being investigated, has already worked a plea deal for crimes he did commit, and you are the sitting president of the United States.
Tapper, while speaking to Democrat yes-man and talking head Rep. Dan Goldman (D-N.Y.) stated, "I understand this is a dad talking about his son, but it's also the President of the United States talking about a potential defendant in a case that his Justice Department is prosecuting.
"Also, he was about to plead guilty to some things that he did wrong. Does the president need to stop publicly saying his son did nothing wrong," reported the Daily Caller.
Goldman responded, "Well look, I think the president has been very clear that he's gonna let the process play out. What we do know is that through all the investigations in Congress, they're simply investigating a private citizen.
"Hunter Biden is not running for president and Joe Biden is running for president and yet, and he is the president, and yet not withstanding, all of the time and effort and all of the moving goal posts, there's no evidence connecting President Biden to any of his son's business dealings."
No evidence? Do you mean other than the statements made by Hunter Biden's business associates and the information on Hunter Biden's laptop?
Let's be realistic here… if we put Trump's name in there for Biden, Democrats would be going nuclear right now.
Tapper even pushed back on the phone calls, stating, "Shouldn't President Biden have realized what Hunter was doing here?
"Getting on the phone, talking on speaker phone with his business associates? Did he at the very least show a major lapse in judgment and a blind spot with his son and how he handled this?"
Goldman, of course, just offered up more lame excuses to defend Joe Biden, excuses that would never be accepted by the media or Democrats if this were Trump.
This is progress, however, as Tapper never would have asked these questions just a few months ago.
Joe Biden does not like to be questioned, and journalists other than Fox News are starting to challenge Biden, not enough, mind you, but we are starting to see it.
My only question is what will they do on this front if Trump wins the nomination and it is Trump v Biden 2.0?
