Jack Smith winding down Trump prosecutions, Congress demands he keep all records
Could we FINALLY be witnessing the downfall of special counsel Jack Smith?
After years of attempting to take down Donald Trump, Smith has officially failed at stopping him from reclaiming the White House.
Now, there are new concerns from the House Judiciary Committee.
Republican Reps. Jim Jordan and Barry Loudermilk of the committee are both concerned that Smith may soon try to “purge” any records of his conduct.
Jordan and Loudermilk wrote a letter demanding that Smith preserve ANY and all documents related to his investigation into Trump and hand them over to Congress by Nov. 22.
“The Committee on the Judiciary is continuing its oversight of the Department of Justice and the Office of Special Counsel. According to recent public reports, prosecutors in your office have been ‘gaming out legal options’ in the event that President Donald Trump won the election,” the committee members wrote in their letter.
Jordan and Loudermilk did NOT stop there.
“With President Trump’s decisive victory this week, we are concerned that the Office of Special Counsel may attempt to purge relevant records, communications, and documents responsive to our numerous requests for information,” they continued, not holding back on the reason behind their demands.
They sent a BIG message to the Office of Special Counsel, giving them a stern reminder that no one employed there is “immune from transparency or above accountability for its actions.”
“We reiterate our requests, which are itemized in the attached appendix and incorporated herein, and ask that you produce the entirety of the requested material as soon as possible but no later than November 22, 2024,” they concluded.
This has to be Smith’s worst nightmare!
As slippery as he is, it appears that the House Judiciary Committee may FINALLY have him trapped.
Do you think Smith will find a way to evade the demands of Jordan and Loudermilk, or is Smith dead meat?
It's not often that liberals are held accountable for their actions. Let's hope this time is one of them.
