IRS Whistleblower, Special Counsel Push Back on Biden’s Pardon Excuse
This weekend, Joe Biden just about broke the internet when he announced that he was pardoning Hunter Biden.
Since Joe Biden was sworn into office, he had repeatedly stated that he would not be pardoning Hunter.
Then, he went against his word, claiming Hunter was targeted, but some very notable parties are pushing back strongly against that narrative.
Just Not So
Biden tried to justify the pardon of his son by claiming he was purposely targeted, even though Hunter has a long history of thumbing his nose at the justice system.
Biden stated, "From the day I took office, I said I would not interfere with the Justice Department’s decision-making, and I kept my word even as I have watched my son being selectively, and unfairly, prosecuted.”
Unfairly prosecuted… please tell me who forced Hunter to start doing drugs. Did someone put a gun to Hunter’s head to have him film his debauchery?
The statement continued, "It is clear that Hunter was treated differently. The charges in his cases came about only after several of my political opponents in Congress instigated them to attack me and oppose my election.
“Then, a carefully negotiated plea deal, agreed to by the Department of Justice, unraveled in the court room – with a number of my political opponents in Congress taking credit for bringing political pressure on the process. Had the plea deal held, it would have been a fair, reasonable resolution of Hunter’s cases.”
Oh, Hunter was treated differently, alright, but not in the way that Biden is saying.
Regarding that plea deal, numerous legal experts chimed in at the time to say that the deal would never have been considered for the average person, so Biden is wrong again.
He continued, "I believe in the justice system, but as I have wrestled with this, I also believe raw politics has infected this process and it led to a miscarriage of justice – and once I made this decision this weekend, there was no sense in delaying it further.
“I hope Americans will understand why a father and a President would come to this decision."
Special Counsel David Weiss immediately pushed back, stating, "There was none and never has been any evidence of vindictive or selective prosecution in this case.”
Quite the opposite, actually, as Weiss was clearly doing everything in his power to treat Hunter with kid gloves, but Hunter spit in his face, forcing Weiss to take off the gloves.
IRS whistleblowers Special Agent Gary Shapely and Special Agent Joe Ziegler added, "President Biden has the power to put his thumb on the scales of justice for his son, but at least he had to do it with a pardon explicitly for all the world to see rather than his political appointees doing it secretly behind the scenes.
“Either way it is a sad day for law-abiding taxpayers to witness this special privilege for the powerful.”
Shapely and Ziegler came forward previously to tell how they were literally blocked from conducting a normal investigation into Hunter’s taxes, regularly running into roadblocks placed in their way to protect Hunter Biden.
Their statement continued, "No amount of lies or spin can hide the simple truth that the Justice Department nearly let the President's son off the hook for multiple felonies. We did our duty, told the truth, and followed the law.
“Anyone reading the President's excuses now should remember that Hunter Biden admitted to his tax crimes in federal court, that Hunter Biden's attorneys have targeted us for our lawful whistleblower disclosures, and that we are suing one of those attorneys for smearing us with false accusations.”
I am still baffled as to why Biden did this as it was all but certain that Donald Trump would have pardoned Hunter.
Frankly, I am glad that if the pardon was inevitable, it was Joe Biden who did it because he has saved Trump a lot of grief, as I was already on the record as saying that I would have blasted him for allowing another connected person to get off scot-free.
