Fashion Icon Iris Apfel Passes Away At Age 102

A Hollywood fashion icon has died.

Iris Apfel, most known for her wild, incredible style and bold taste in clothing, was 102 years old at the time of her death.

Apfel was a fashionista, an expert in fabrics and textile and a true interior designer.

While no cause of death has been confirmed, her death has rocked fashion lovers across the nation.

Apfel was over 100 years old but only recently shot to Internet fame thanks to Instagram.

Her fashion-focused account had close to three million followers.

However, true style mavens knew Apfel long before her days of online notoriety.

She even had her own show in the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute!

Her commercial agent, Lori Sale, is the one who confirmed the sad news of her passing.

Sale also shared sweet words of recollection about Apfel.

“Working alongside her was the honor of a lifetime. I will miss her daily calls, always greeted with the familiar question: “What have you got for me today? Testament to her insatiable desire to work. She was a visionary in every sense of the word. She saw the world through a unique lens – one adorned with giant, distinctive spectacles that sat atop her nose,” Sale said.

Apfel truly loved life.

She refused to retire or take it easy.

She even once told Today that she thinks “retiring at any age is a fate worse than death. Just because a number comes up doesn’t mean you have to stop.”

There are not many who can say they accomplished so much during their time on earth.

Even fewer human beings get the privilege of living past 100!

We will miss Apfel and hope those that are grieving the loss of this fashion icon are given peace and comfort during this difficult time.
