Fani T. Willis, the Fulton County district attorney, dropped a bit of a bombshell on the Trump camp on Monday night.
We knew Willis was going to indict Trump, but I don’t think anyone expected anything of this magnitude.
Along with Trump, 18 of his allies were indicted in the case as well.
Willis is giving Trump until later this month to turn himself in.
Bombshell Allegations
If you thought Alvin Bragg dug deep to indict Trump in New York, well, Willis pulled out all of the tricks.
In the indictment, prosecutors stated, “Trump and the other Defendants charged in this Indictment refused to accept that Trump lost, and they knowingly and willfully joined a conspiracy to unlawfully change the outcome of the election in favor of Trump,” reported the New York Times.
Among other charges, Trump and his allies were hit with obstruction and racketeering charges, offering an unprecedented slew of charges against a former president.
Trump went nuclear, as expected, after the indictment was handed down.
He stated, “Nineteen people were indicted, and the whole world is laughing at the United States as they see how corrupt and horrible a place it has turned out to be under the leadership of Crooked Joe Biden,” reported Deadline.
Trump continued, “The racist and corrupt district attorney of Fulton County, which has turned out to be a murder capital of the world with among the highest violent crime levels anywhere in our country, just opened a fundraising site in order to benefit off the things she most campaigned on, ‘I will get Donald Trump.’
“This politically-inspired indictment, which could have been brought close to three years ago, was tailored for placement right smack in the middle of my political campaign, where I am leading all Republicans—by a lot—and beating Joe Biden soundly in almost all polls.”
Two of the bigger names that were listed as co-defendants were Rudolph W. Giuliani, his former personal lawyer, and Mark Meadows, who served as White House chief of staff.
Meadows has been MIA for months, so I am really curious to see what happens when he resurfaces.
