Illinois Governor Says He Will Stand Up for Undocumented Immigrants

The Trump administration is on a roll right now in terms of rounding up illegal immigrants.

And before I go any further, I feel the need to remind everyone that the moment you come across the border illegally, you are a criminal, period.

To that point, Illinois Governor Pritzker, a Democrat, is telling Trump to back off “law-abiding undocumented immigrants.”

But They Already Broke the Law

I, for one, am sick and tired of this perception that liberals have that everyone crossing the border is doing so to file for asylum.

There were more than two million illegal immigrants that crossed our border in 2023, and that does not include the gotaways.

By liberal beliefs, you would think they all applied for asylum, but in reality, there were 105,062 applications filed, with there being more than 54,000 approvals.

That rate, by the way, is a direct result of Biden’s CBP app, which more or less granted automatic asylum for the migrants using it (historically, approval rate is around 20% or lower).

Governor Pritzker was recently on CNN to push back against Trump’s deportation order, stating, “Well, let me start by being clear that when we’re talking about violent criminals who have been convicted and who are undocumented, we don’t want them in our state. We want them out of the country. We hope they do get deported. And if that’s who they’re picking up, we’re all for it.”

Then he dropped the bomb, stating, “We also have a law on the books in Illinois that says that our local law enforcement will stand up for those law-abiding, undocumented people in our state who are doing the right thing.”

Dems don’t seem to grasp what illegal immigration does to our economy, especially in terms of driving down wages and driving up housing costs.

It really is not a hard concept… set an immigration limit, make everyone come in lawfully, and we have no problems.

If you are going to protect illegal immigrants, then what is the purpose of even having immigration laws?
