Ifeanyi Ubah, Nigerian Senator targeted in shooting, dies in London

Much like Donald Trump, Ifeanyi Ubah was a politician who was opposed by some very dangerous people.

Ubah was able to escape from gunfire during an assassination attempt against him, but now the Nigerian Senator has died of cardiac arrest while visiting London.

In September of 2022, Ubah was attacked by gunman while his convoy was travelling to Nnewi.

The shooting was a bloodbath, claiming at least five lives. Two of the people who died as a result of the gunfire were policemen.

Luckily, Ubah survived that attack, as the vehicle he was riding in at the time was bulletproof.

Unfortunately, Ubah's luck would not last long.

Less than two years after he was shot at, Ubah has died of heart problems at the age of just 52.

A source close to Ubah's family claimed that he may have been in a hospital in London to undergo surgery when he passed away.

Like many people in Nigeria, Ubah grew up without many material possessions.

His family was struggling mightily, so Ubah dropped out of school to learn a trade at a "young age," according to Wikipedia.

Ubah became involved in the business world and became a successful importer of tires and spare vehicle parts to many countries in West Africa.

He was able to expand his business, and in 2014, decided to enter the world of politics.

He lost at the 2014 Anambra gubernatorial election on the Labour Party's platform but would later experience victory in a Senatorial election in 2019.

As evidenced by the dramatic attack on his life back in 2022, Ubah was clearly a man with a target on his back.

Donald Trump surely hopes that he survives for longer than Ubah did after his attempted assassination, but there's no question that both having experienced such attacks yields interesting parallels between the two politicians.
