Hunter Biden Sentencing Delayed Until December
Hunter Biden finally won a motion in court and quite frankly, I am surprised he got the win.
Biden requested a delay in his gun charges case.
However, when prosecutors objected to the delay, I thought for sure the judge would rule against him.
Let Him Have His Time
Judge Maryellen Noreika has had little time for Hunter’s games during this trial, but she did finally cut him a break.
Hutner was due to be scheduled just after the election, but his attorneys requested more time to properly defend him during the sentencing hearing.
Currently, they not only have to defend him during that hearing, but they are also working out a plea deal with the government over Hunter’s tax evasion charges.
Hunter changed his plea at the last minute, shocking everyone, stating that he wanted to spare his family from further embarrassment.
The motion stated, “Given all the pre-sentencing tasks necessary to adequately prepare for Mr. Biden’s Delaware sentencing, much of which overlap with his sentencing in the California case scheduled for December 16, 2024, and other litigation deadlines (described below), it will be very difficult for Mr. Biden’s counsel to be ready for sentencing on November 13, 2024.”
His attorneys also argued that some of the witnesses they had planned to call would not be available until after November 5.
My understanding is that one reason they wanted to delay the case is that they plan on having some current Biden officials testify on his behalf before sentencing.
So, they wanted to wait until after the election so that it could not be used against Kamala Harris.
Now, there will probably be a parade of government officials claiming this was all politically based and a witch hunt, but I don’t think that argument will win any favors from this particular judge.
While I don’t see Hunter getting any jail time, parading a bunch of Daddy’s friends before the court might inspire the judge to make an example of Hunter.
