Hunter Biden Refusing to Attend Public Hearing

When Republicans first told Hunter Biden they wanted him to come in and testify, Hunter went Hollywood.

He showed up with his sugar daddy and attorney, gave a dramatic speech on the steps of the Capitol, and demanded a public hearing while refusing to obey the subpoena that had been issued by the House committee.

Well, Rep. James Comer (R-KY) and company are now willing to hold a public hearing, only Hunter is bowing out.

RSVP… Not Coming

The House Oversight Committee, of which Comer is the Chair, is holding a public hearing regarding the impeachment of Joe Biden.

Hunter was invited to testify along with some of his former business partners about Joe’s involvement in Hunter's business activities.

Hunter, however, after demanding a public hearing, has decided not to attend this one.

After Hunter said he would not attend, Comer stated that the “only conclusion that one can reach is that Mr. Biden knows his public testimony would not withstand scrutiny.”

He added, “Nonetheless, the Committee will proceed forward—with or without Mr. Biden—because it is important to show publicly how the Biden brand was sold for so many years in Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan, Romania, and China, and to explain Joe Biden’s involvement in these lucrative transactions.”

Abbe Lowell, Hunter’s attorney, responded, “Your blatant planned-for-media event is not a proper proceeding but an obvious attempt to throw a Hail Mary pass after the game has ended.”

Lowell is about as shady as they come, but he is not too far off the mark here.

The Biden impeachment has seemingly lost its steam, and Comer knows he needs to make a splash if he wants to deliver on that promise he made once the GOP took over the House.

To this point, it is not even clear if Comer could impeach Biden for something that happened as vice president.

I have always been against impeachment as long as Democrats control the Senate because we know Schumer would never allow the impeachment to go through.

Even if he does put the motion on the floor, there is zero chance of a single Democrat voting against Biden, and they control the majority, so this is nothing but political theater for the sake of getting some votes in the upcoming election.

I would rather appoint a special counsel to investigate possible criminal behavior and wait until the GOP gets the White House to refer it to the Attorney General for an indictment.
