Hunter Biden Informant Charged by Special Counsel

Well, the script has flipped, as they say.

The informant who alleged that Hunter and Joe Biden received $5 million each from Ukraine as a payoff for Biding having the prosecutor fired has been charged.

Special Counsel David Weiss announced charges against Alexander Smirnov for lying to his FBI handler.

You Lied!

Smirnov had reportedly been working with the FBI for years, having been used prior as a “reliable” informant.

For whatever reason, the FBI was not buying into his allegations that Burisma officials paid off the Bidens for Biden pressuring Ukraine to file its head prosecutor when he was the vice president.

In fact, the FBI never even investigated the claims that were made, which, when Republicans found out about it, sent them into an uproar.

Among other pieces of alleged evidence, House Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-KY) used this information to promote the impeachment inquiry of Joe Biden.

Now, of course, Democrats are holding Comer’s feet to the fire, as well as suggesting that Hunter Biden should sue the committee for defamation.

After the indictment was handed down, authorities were able to take Smirnov into custody in Las Vegas at the Harry Reid International Airport.

If he is convicted on the charges, he could be sentenced to 25 years.

Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA), who demanded the information from the FBI, has applauded the investigation and charges while at the same time slamming the FBI for not having vetted the information until he inquired about it.

Rep. Comer has also tried to spin this narrative a bit, stating that the information provided by Smirnov is not part of the impeachment inquiry.

He joined Grassley in criticizing the FBI for not having vetted the information until Congress started inquiring about the report.

The problem for Republicans, however, is that while they barely covered any of the other “evidence” that Comer has against Biden, this story is blowing up all over the place.
