REPORT: Houston Teacher Charged for Dragging 5-year-old Girl Across Floor

If we villainize every police officer in the country for outlier acts, why are teachers in this country being treated so differently?

In the last few months, we have seen abuse and sexual misconduct cases brought against hundreds of teachers, but it is not even getting a whisper by most mainstream media outlets.

The latest being an assault case in Houston involving a 5-year-old girl.

Jenny Alicia Dominguez, 44, of the Houston Independent School District (HISD) was seen on video grabbing 5-year-old Fany Castro by the hair and dragging her across the floor.

The teacher was apparently frustrated because the girl refused to throw away a fork.

The incident was reported when another employee saw the incident on the surveillance camera.

A witness who spoke to police stated that Dominguez told the girl, “No seas chiflada,” which translates, “Don’t be a brat.”

Castro’s mother, Patricia Saldana, stated, “It made me kind of furious at the teacher and school district, which is supposed to be a safe place for the kids to learn, play, and not to worry about anyone mistreating them.”

An HISD spokesperson stated, “HISD takes these situations very seriously, and the safety and well-being of our students is always our absolute top priority.

“ISD PD was notified of an allegation of misconduct and the educator was immediately reassigned pending the outcome of the investigation.

“Due to the Family Education Rights Privacy Act and the pending investigation, HISD will not provide additional information.”

The teacher has since been charged with a felony for injury to a child, but she has not yet been taken into custody.
