House passes censure against Rep. Al Green with some Democrat support

The House addressed the outburst by Rep. Al Green (D-TX) during Trump’s joint session of Congress address.

Green was tossed out of chambers for refusing to sit down during the speech.

Republicans introduced a resolution to censure Green, and it passed with mild Democrat support.

Censure Issued

When the censure issue was floored initially, it passed a procedural vote along party lines.

However, when it came time to vote on the actual censure, it passed 224-198, with 10 Democrats crossing over to punish Green.

Johnson explained to the media, “We take no pleasure in this.

“I gave repeated warnings to Representative Green to stand down and to sit down and he refused to do it, he chose to deliberately violate House rules in a manner that we think is probably unprecedented in history, interrupting the message of a president of the United States, who is an honored guest.”

Johnson was also adamant that the censure was issued because this was not a random, emotional outburst, as we have seen in the past, but an organized protest by Democrats to try to get Trump off his game.

There were numerous reports leading up to the speech that suggested Democrats were going to use noisemakers and other props to disrupt Trump.

After Green was tossed, however, the Dems used ridiculous paddle signs to protest.

Since they knew they would get kicked out of the room, there were quite a few Democrats who decided to walk out in the middle of the speech, then proceeded to make videos on social media to explain their actions.

This, as I have stated before, is all political theater. If they spent half as much time legislating as they do on their social media accounts, all of this country's problems would be fixed.

We should also note that Trump was clear about what he would do if elected, and he has done just that, yet Democrats continue to resist on every front and refuse to work with Republicans on any legislation.

After the disaster that was the 2024 election for Democrats, they continue to double down on the same ridiculous policies that cost them the Senate, House, and White House.

Trump has little wiggle room if he wants to keep voters happy, but Democrats continue to extend that leash with this childish behavior.
