House Ethics Committee Votes Against Bowman Investigation

Once again, the House Ethics Committee has proven that it takes care of its own over and above everything else.

The committee announced this week that it would not be investigating the pulling of the fire alarm by Rep. Bowman (D-N.Y.).

As you may recall, Bowman pulled the fire alarm during a session, saying that was an accident, while video evidence showed that was far from the case.

Not Even a Slap on the Wrist

So, before I get into this, here is the full video of Bowman approaching the doors where he claims he was in a rush to vote, and thought the fire alarm would open the doors.

Again, keep in mind Bowman is a former teacher and principal, probably having run dozens, if not hundreds of fire drills for students at the school…

Those signs that you saw him remove were signs warning that opening the door would set off the fire alarm.

Then he purposely pulls the fire alarm and leaves the area.

This was a stunt, such as a child would do, more than likely thinking he would get away with it but did not realize there were surveillance cameras in place at the door.

Only this little stunt was not to get the kids out of class but rather to interrupt a voting session of Congress.

My opinion… he should have been expelled from Congress for this act, as it shows complete and utter disrespect for the office and for We the People.

But, the Capitol Police investigation found that he did nothing purposely wrong, and slapped him with a small fine.

And now the House Ethics Committee will not even be investigating the matter to hold him accountable.

A statement from the committee said that lawmakers "did not agree to establish an ISC or report to the House regarding Representative Bowman's conduct.”

Now, as stated above, I would have voted to expel not just based on the fire alarm, but on the fact he lied to the American people and the police when the incident was being investigated.

He does not deserve the honor of serving in Congress and he is a perfect example of why the American people overwhelmingly disapprove of Congress right now.

They are worse than petulant children because they all know better and are committing these childish acts on purpose.
